Be Stedfast

............ thanking God for Elder Bethea who delivers the words of the week on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm.

This week Elder Bethea started out speaking to us from the Book of Ruth. The word spoke to us describing the relationship between Naomi and her daughters - in - Law, Ruth and Or'pah after the death of their husbands Mah-lon and Chilion. Briefly, Naomi tried to persuade Ruth and Or'pah to return to their respective families and not follow on with her.

Elder Bethea used verse 18 of 1st chapter of the book of Ruth for his text, "Be Stedfast". The words of Ruth and her determination to remain by the side of Naomi and to lodge where she lodge, and that the God of Naomi would be her God (verse 16), to die where she dies (verse 17) was the setting for this inspired message from the man of God. Elder Bethea continues this message citing several scriptures in the New Testament that are sure to encourage you to hold on to the Lord and continue on following in the paths of righteousness.
